Introducing Me: Katherine
Hello! I’m Katherine and I’m one of your Marketing Directors at Hearts to Heroes this year! As a Marketing Director, I am behind the research that goes into our posts, making the posts & stories, as well as connecting with each and every one of you to create a more inclusive space. It is so rewarding to see the impact our social media makes on the healthcare industry and on the lives of students who help us make all the donations we donate to facilities.
My Hearts to Heroes journey started in my freshman year of high school when I decided to apply for the H2H club board as publicity. I know, there's a theme in my positions. What can I say, I’m just super passionate about design! Anyways, I absolutely loved being a publicist for the club and it really evoked a sense of purpose in that I was doing something meaningful and it really helped people in my community. I actually enjoyed it so much that I was set on applying for Marketing Director for the organization. And~ here I am! Writing this blog post about myself as a Marketing Director!
A little more about me, my personality leans more toward Type-A, I have a Google Calendar that basically manages my entire life. (Would probably fall apart without it!) It’s my favorite thing in the entire world - aside from my favorite Squishmallow Iver. Organizing things just makes my heart happy. Aside from that, I like to say I’m a hard worker and a people pleaser who has a passion to give back to the community.
During the pandemic, I’ve learned how important the jobs of healthcare professionals are. Just like Google Calendar keeps my life together, healthcare workers keep everyone else's lives together. They are truly underappreciated and being in a position where I can contribute to making sure they get the recognition they deserve, I do the best I can. I believe everyone can make a positive difference in their community; just a simple “thank you!” or a smile does just the trick, I promise. So, whenever you can, do something kind and thank the heroes in your life.
